Welcome to RONNINGS! Since 1964, RONNINGS has been a go-to shopping destination for northern Minnesota and the surrounding communities. What began as the Falls Surplus store in International Falls, grew into a workwear and souvenir shop, then a department store—and today, we proudly call ourselves a General Store! Through the years, we've kept one thing at the heart of it all: evolving with our customers and bringing them what they love most.

Our shelves are filled with top brands and handpicked finds—from clothing and footwear to souvenirs, toys, gifts, and home décor. We travel to markets Nationwide to bring you the best, curating each item with care and personality. It’s small-town shopping with big charm—and we can't wait for you to experience it!

RONNINGS expanded to Baudette, Minnesota, in the early 2000's, then to Roseau, Minnesota, in 2017, and Thief River Falls, Minnesota, in 2019.

Most recently, RONNINGS in International Falls underwent a major renovation and expansion between 2023 and 2025. The neighboring building to the original store—once home to JC Penney and later Shannon Square—was completely transformed from the inside out. The building was gutted, and we built out a cozy new coffee shop & checkout area, upgraded the plumbing, electricity, and everything in between. A catwalk was constructed to connect the two existing mezzanines and three large openings were created to seamlessly join the new space with the original RONNINGS corner store.
