Full-Time & Part-Time Coffee Shop Assistant Manager (International Falls)
The Coffee Shop Assistant Manager role involves preparing coffee drinks, serving ice cream, creating gourmet popcorn, and overseeing daily operations of the RONNINGS Coffee Shop. The Assistant Manager will also assist in managing and training a small team, ensuring exceptional customer service and smooth shop operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Duties:
- Prepare Coffee Drinks: Craft a variety of high-quality coffee beverages, including espresso-based drinks, following recipes and quality standards.
- Serve Ice Cream: Scoop and serve ice cream, ensuring portion accuracy and maintaining product freshness.
- Make Gourmet Popcorn: Prepare and package gourmet popcorn in various flavors, adhering to quality and presentation standards.
- Customer Service: Lead by example in providing excellent customer service, resolving customer issues promptly, and creating a welcoming environment.
- Cleanliness and Safety: Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workspace, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Leadership and Management:
- Team Supervision: Work with the Coffee Shop Manager to help oversee daily activities of the coffee shop team, ensuring efficient operations and a positive work environment.
- Staff Training: Assist in training in new employees in food preparation, customer service, and operational procedures. Provide ongoing coaching and support to team members.
- Scheduling and Delegation: Assist in creating staff schedules to meet business needs and delegate tasks effectively to ensure smooth workflow.
- Inventory and Ordering: Assist in monitoring inventory levels, placing orders, and managing stock to avoid shortages or overstocking.
- Problem-Solving: Handle operational challenges, including equipment malfunctions and staffing adjustments, quickly and effectively
- Policy Enforcement: Uphold company policies and procedures, ensuring they are consistently followed by all team members.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a supervisory role, preferably in a coffee shop, food service, or retail environment is a plus.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and stay calm in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and food handling is a plus.
- Proficiency with point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic computer skills.
- Flexible availability to work during store open hours (including some weekends & holidays)
Full- Time Compensation: Starting Salary or $41,600
Part-Time Compensation: Starting Pay of $15/hour
Full-Time & Part-Time Coffee Shop Barista (International Falls)
We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and energetic part-time Coffee Shop Barista to join our team. This unique role involves preparing high-quality coffee drinks, scooping and serving ice cream, and creating delicious gourmet popcorn for our customers. The ideal candidate has a passion for excellent customer service, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in delivering a great product.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare Coffee Drinks: Craft a variety of hot and cold coffee beverages, including espresso-based drinks, following established recipes and standards.
- Serve Ice Cream: Scoop and serve ice cream with attention to portion sizes and presentation, ensuring cleanliness and product quality.
- Make Gourmet Popcorn: Assist in preparing and packaging gourmet popcorn flavors, maintaining consistency and flavor quality.
- Customer Interaction: Greet customers warmly, take orders accurately, and handle transactions efficiently at the register.
- Maintain Cleanliness: Keep the workspace, equipment, and serving areas clean and organized, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
- Stock and Inventory: Replenish supplies as needed and notify management of low stock items.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to ensure smooth operations and an excellent customer experience.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in food service, coffee making, or retail is a plus but not required; training will be provided.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
- Positive attitude, reliability, and strong work ethic.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Availability to work flexible shifts during open store hours, including weekends and holidays.

Full-Time or Part-Time Freight Manager
Ronning’s Freight Managers are a vital part of store operations. Freight Managers support the store in all aspects of freight and inventory transfers to achieve an efficient and orderly freight room. As a freight manager, you will be in charge of assuring all freight gets checked in, received correctly and out to the sales floor in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
• Promptly answer freight bell when Carrier Services (FedEx, UPS, Sir Speedy, etc.) arrive at the store
• Check in all freight and ensure that freight matches packing lists, Purchase Orders and/or invoices
• Once freight is checked in, receive all merchandise into Ronning’s RICS Inventory system.
• Promptly and efficiently send all inventoried merchandise up to the sales floor for sales associates to put out
• Manage and/or complete store transfers from your store location to other store locations
• Manage and/or complete all store special orders & transfers and promptly contact customers when their
ordered product arrives
• Other reporting and RICS operations may be required as the job develops
Software Responsibilities
• Completely understand and operate the functions of RICS system relevant to your position
• Ensure merchandise is correctly received, priced and transfers are completed.
Position Requirements
Ronning’s Freight Managers are skilled individuals with:
• High school degree or equivalent
• Self-motivated
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time and frequently lift heavy (<50 pound) objects
• Ability to work Monday through Friday - some nights, weekends and holidays may be required at discretion of
store manager
• Work until the job is done (approximately 25-40 hours a week)
