Position Overview
The Marketing & Brand Manager is responsible for developing, leading and executing all marketing and branding strategies for the parent company and its divisions, including RONNINGS and The Nines. This position oversees brand identity, advertising, promotions, social media, ecommerce marketing/strategy, and community outreach across all locations and online platforms.
This role ensures consistency between brands while also maintaining each company’s unique identity. The Marketing & Brand Manager works closely with ownership and ecommerce/digital marketing teams to drive traffic, increase sales and strengthen brand recognition.
Our ideal candidate is someone who gets excited about shopping, styling outfits, and has a passion for marketing and community outreach. We’re looking for someone who doesn’t just complete tasks but brainstorms and develops new strategies and sees opportunities that others can’t. We're looking for a self-starter to keep us in the forefront of our current customers while also acquiring new customers.
Leadership & Strategy
- Work with owners to develop and lead the overall marketing and brand strategy for all company divisions
- Work directly with ownership to support long-term growth goals
- Create annual marketing plans, budgets and content/promotional calendars
- Identify opportunities to expand brand reach, customer base and sales
- Lead marketing efforts for new store locations, remodels, expansions and new business ventures.
Brand Management
- Oversee brand identity for all company divisions, including RONNINGS and The Nines
- Maintain consistent brand standards across stores, websites, social media and advertising
- Work directly with ownership to support long-term growth goals
- Ensure marketing reflects company values, culture and customer experience
- Manage logos, packaging, signage, tags and promotional materials
Marketing Strategy & Campaigns
- Create and execute annual marketing plans for all divisions
- Plan seasonal campaigns, store events and major promotions
- Coordinate marketing for new store locations, expansions and remodels
- Support product launches, new brands and special collections
- Work with the owners to promote key categories and inventory
- Assist in planning and executing a marketing calendar
Ecommerce
- Oversee ecommerce strategy for both brands
- Assist in creating special collections, weekly lineups/new arrivals and execution
- Monitor trends and recommend new marketing opportunities
- Drive online traffic and sales through strategic marketing campaigns and organic growth
- Ensure our website is updated and fresh
Digital Marketing & Social Media
- Oversee social media and digital marketing strategy for all brands
- Coordinate content creation including photography, videography, graphics and ads to ensure symmetry between our social media, digital marketing and website
- Monitor trends and recommend new marketing opportunities
- Work with influencers to grow brand recognition and sales
Advertising & Community Outreach
- Manager an advertising budget for both companies that could include digital, local media, print, radio, newspaper, etc.
- Coordinate sponsorships, donations and community involvement
- Plan in-store events, customer appreciation days, and special promotions
- Build relationships with local organizations and business partners
Team Leadership
- Supervise the ecommerce, social media and creative team members
- Coordinate projects between marketing, ecommerce, buying, warehouse and stores
- Set priorities, timelines and campaign schedules
- Assist in hiring, training and evaluating marketing staff
- Ensure strong communication across all divisions
Analytics & Reporting
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or a related field
- 10 years of marketing experience, retail experience preferred
- Strong understanding of branding, social media, ecommerce and advertising
- Ability to manage multiple brands at the same time
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Creative thinking with attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment
Work Environment
- Full-time, office position at our Detroit Lakes office. Monday-Friday position
- Works closely with all store locations, warehouse and marketing team
- Some evening and weekend work may be required for special events and promotions
- Occasional travel between locations may be required
